I am really upset that software is limiting my hardware speed. Over at this Macbook thread mwhities was able to install 16GB into a mid 2010 13' Macbook 2.4 Core 2 Duo P8600 that was otherwise stated to be limited by Apple to a max of 4GB and by OWC to a max of 8GB.
I am running efi 2.0 firmware and OSX 10.6.6 do I need to downgrade my firmware or mod my firmware to allow this to work. The 20 macbook pros allow for 1333mhz what did they change in the 2010 mbp? What I need to know if anyone can help me is, what am I missing? Intel's chipset and C2D 2.4ghz or 2.66ghz work fine with a 1333mhz FSB. I am very new to apple and what I think is going on is the firmware is blocking the FSB from running at 1333mhz. I called apple and he told me to do a smc reset that was the only thing I could try.
